National Child Protection Week | 7–13 September 2025
Theme: Every Conversation Matters – Shifting Conversation to Action
This week is a powerful reminder of the role we all play in keeping children and young people safe. National Child Protection Week encourages us to move awareness into action — because protecting children is everyone’s responsibility.
Open, empowering conversations are the foundation of child protection. Whether it’s between children and caregivers, families and educators, or community members and services, these dialogues help identify risks, build trust, and support early intervention. This year’s theme highlights the role of adults as active protectors — shifting from hearing to helping.
As part of this year’s campaign, we’re all encouraged to:
Check in with neighbours, peers and families
Model kindness and support for others, especially parents
Intervene safely when something doesn’t feel right
Actively include children’s voices in conversations and decision-making
At our service each child’s safety and wellbeing are always our top priority. Our educators are deeply committed to creating an environment where every child can grow in health, confidence, self-respect, and dignity — free from harm, violence or exploitation. We believe that every child deserves to feel safe, supported and valued.
All our teachers, educators and staff are mandatory reporters — meaning they are legally required to report any concerns about a child’s safety to the Child Protection Helpline (Phone 132 111).
If you know or suspect that a child is at risk, please don’t stay silent. Reach out to a trusted professional, contact child protection services via the helpline (132 111), or speak with someone who can help. Your action could change a life.
Let’s work together to create a community where every child feels safe, heard, and protected. ![]()
